Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer specializing in injection moulding to oversee and optimize our production processes in the machine shop. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with injection moulding machinery, production scheduling, quality control, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Oversee daily production operations in the injection moulding machine shop, ensuring timely completion and quality control.
2) Set up, operate, and troubleshoot injection moulding machines and related equipment.
3) Develop and implement production schedules to optimize machine usage and meet project deadlines.
4) Monitor and improve production efficiency, reducing waste, downtime, and cycle times.
5) Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on machinery to minimize unplanned downtime.
6) Work closely with quality control to ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.
7) Implement and enforce safety and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
8) Document production data, including material usage, cycle times, and quality control records.
9) Collaborate with design and engineering teams to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve product design for manufacturability.
10) Train and supervise machine operators on proper handling and operation techniques.
Skills and Qualifications:
1) Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
2) Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in production engineering with a focus on injection moulding.
3) Technical Skills: Proficiency with injection moulding machinery, setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
4) Knowledge of Materials: Understanding of various polymers and their properties in the injection moulding process.
5) Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze production metrics, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements.
6) Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining high quality and precision in all production activities.
7) Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to resolving machine, production, and quality issues.
